The following is a brief guide to the car collision repair process. It will give you an overview of what is required to get your vehicle back on the road after a collision. Pre-job Coordination
Repair order is signed and job file created.
Parts are ordered electronically then received and stocked in delivery bins.
Re-Inspection Cycle
The Vehicle is disassembled, and inspected for additional damage.
Supplemental reports are written for insurance company if required.
Insurance and customer notified of supplemental damage or additional work.
Framing - Body Work - Painting
If necessary interior parts are removed to gain access to damaged body work.
Body and metal work is inspected.
Body and frame work is repaired and checked for accuracy.
Vehicle is masked to protect unpaint parts.
Vehicle primed using acid etching, rust-inhibiting primer.
Vehicle is water block sanded to ensure a smooth and flawless surface.
Surface washed and treated to remove any contaminants.
Vehicle sprayed with up to seven coats of paint, including a clear coat.
Reassembly / Completion
Interior panels, trim, moldings, mirrors and accessories remounted.
Subtle work such as pinstriping completed.
Windshield and trim reinstalled.
Wiring reconnected, sensors reattached, lights and systems checked.
Final Quality Control inspection
Vehicle washed and detailed.
Final test drive and inspection is performed.
Owner is called to pickup the vehicle.
